Safe Arrival

We have all safely arrived in Quito! All of us that flew out of Madison had a 40 minute delay but we must have had great tailwind because we still landed in Atlanta around the time we were supposed to. We still managed to have some fun through the whole process.

Adios Wisconsin!

The whole team gathered at the food court. We all got to meet Dr. Sarah, Quigs, and David! Everyone had an uneventful first flight and we all arrived about the same time! We all fell into step together and already feeling like a big family. What a blessing! The Atlanta airport had some amazing art work. Jesse even fond a mask that was made just for her!

Kendra got in on the new style too

God really put together a fantastic team for this trip! All smiles and laughs through Atlanta then on to our 4 hour and 54 minute flight to Quito. I had to laugh because I was seated between an Australian and a doctor of neuropyschology, so I was able to have some interesting conversations with them along the way. The team was scattered throughout the cabin, and they had some interesting conversations too. Everyone seemed very excited for us and our trip. We thankfully missed the storms that we starting to roll through the area. We had a little bit of turbulence over Florida but through it all we got to watch a beautiful sun set (I was in a middle seat so I didn't get any pictures bu Morgan did!).

When we were at our cruising altitude you could watch the lighting in the clouds in the distance, and then after a movie and a couple tv shows we began to descend into Quito. After a long stretch of darkness, the lights of the valley city was a hidden beacon amongst the mountains.
Sorry it is blurry!

Customs was a breeze! Everyone was very kind and most of us didn't even get our luggage checked so that made the whole process even faster. Each of us got a cute little luggage cart too!

All lined up ready to be picked up!

Dan Shedd and Joaquin met us helped us load all of our bags into a trailer and van. It was great to be greeted with smiles and Joaquin had some pretty funny jokes too. We had about a 45 minute drive to Dan's home. We unloaded and piled into the apartment (more photos to come tomorrow)! All of us girls are already getting nice and cozy in our apartment. We had a scheduling briefing and prayer before bed. As I type away now, everyone is asleep resting up for tomorrow.

Thank you for all the prayers! Keep 'em coming! I think that I can speak for everyone in that it is amazing to be here and I am excited for what the Lord has in store for us! Hasta manana!
